The project aims to promote, develop, and build capacities at HEI for the establishment of Innovation Campuses focused on Sustainable Raw Materials and Green Mining (‘university-driven’ Hubs). To develop sustainable mining and metallurgy industries in EU, there is a need to engage stronger HEI capacities to join forces and knowledge bases to develop the cross-sectorial industrial value chain. Therefore, the project develops concrete actions to wider innovation culture, and to teach innovation and entrepreneurship at HEIs. Concrete actions are also developed to encourage and foster R&D capacities of HEIs, and to increase impact of regional and local Innovation Ecosystems by engaging mining and raw material industry and HEIs to work side by side. By working together, more sustainable mining solutions and innovation projects by applying ‘circular economy’ concepts and bussiness models are developed. For achieving the goals of the project, all the Talent Labs and the research facilities in all the disciplines in Lapland UAS are available for the project.
