Tavoite

The objective of the pre-study is to gain knowledge, gather a consortium, and formulate a following full scale project, wherein implementation as well as development and research on technologies for power line monitoring will be performed. The expectation is that such full scale project will contribute stable power transfer capacity for rural municipalities, and thus increased resilience and possibility for these to participate in the ongoing green transition. Important questions are:

 

– What is the current need for increased regional power network capacity?

– What solutions for monitoring exist today that would be possible to implement in a measurement scenario?

– What open technical and system level research and development questions can be identified in relation to the needs and technologies identified above?

– Who are potential partners in a full-scale project, and what would their contributions be?

 

These learnings will be a foundation in the formulation of a full-scale project

Tulokset

The project that herein is applied for is a small scale pre-study. The clear goal of this pre-study is to form a base required to formulate a follow-up full scale project. Therefore, the exit strategy is to make certain that a full scale project is applied for, and that the results of the pre-study is such that the quality of the full scale project will yield funding. Ownership will be ascertained such that all parties in the pre-study will have access to all materiel produced, and also such that all parties in the pre-study shall hopefully be parts in a full-scale project. The goal is also that a full-scale project shall be extended with parties also from Norway., thereby transferring the results of the pre-study further. Durability of the pre-study is guaranteed given that the intended exit strategy is effectuated. A follow up full-scale project will in itself last three years, and the results therein generated will be intended for long-lasting, durable reults regarding capacity in regional power grids.
