The reasons to plan the project rise from the three United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals: 8.- Decent work and Economic Growth, 12.- Responsible Consumption and 13.-Climate Change.Climate change is an unprecedented threat happening right now on our planet and it has an ongoing impact on all of us. With this project we are addressing the needs of companies and entrepreneurs that lack easily accessible information, knowledge and methods to make their business sustainable. We also address the needs of students and future work force as well as that of higher education institutions to learn and strengthen their knowledge of the environmentally friendly ways to do business. Our project aims to offer one particular solution and bring a contribution to the global movement to save our planet.

OVERALL OBJECTIVE of the project is to increase know-how of entrepreneurs (current and future), to become more resilient to climate change with the competence to create new business models aiming at positive environmental impact. 

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE of the project is to create a modern up-to-date knowledge base and digital learning material for education that would enhance entrepreneurial thinking and action towards environmental consciousness and sustainability taking into consideration climate change.

ResultsKey results at the project level will be increased ‘green’ entrepreneurial and sustainable business skills of learners, improved training competence of educators and new training methodology via outputs, multiplier events and learning events.

Supportive research on Sustainable Business Practices: Partnership aims to create the most up-to-date training material for students and entrepreneurs and in order to be able to do that there is a need to conduct a thorough research on existing sustainable business practices.This research will also assist and provide significant information for our users to further improve their success in transforming / establishing sustainable business practices. We will gather knowledge on good practices from each partner country of partner institutions. Research will also help to understand EU and global practices, guidelines and funding opportunities for businesses that wish to become sustainable. Digital Handbook on Sustainable Entrepreneurship for Climate Action:  In context of climate change there is a real need for the businesses to think and act greener which will result in having a huge impact at the societal level. For this the major task is to educate and train the entrepreneurs and the decision makers on sustainable entrepreneurship for climate action. The need is to bring the change in the minds of young entrepreneurs and come forward with transformed business thinking to bring a change in the operations and strategy for the sake of sustainability for climate action. Dealing with the transformation of thinking, operations and market strategy can be very challenging and costly too, the businesses can give up on the idea of change because the new demands. 

Partnership aim to develop a digital handbook for entrepreneurs which guides them to bring up the changes in the way of thinking, hopefully resulting in growing number of green businesses sustainable companies, advocates of circular economy and most importantly: activists for climate change action. Additionally we will train teachers and pilot digital handbook in frame of intensive course for students.  

Digital Learning Video Material:  

The aim of creating a digital handbook on sustainable entrepreneurial action to SMEs and higher education institutions is to provide them with applicable, generally accessible and practical knowledge, therefore in order to support the training of our users, there will be developed digital resources for learning/teaching/training. It will be developed in a form of a set of education videos. 

There is a lack of educational video in the context of the sustainable entrepreneurship. There is variety of videos in general, but almost not available such professional educational videos, that are created from the learning and educational point of view.

Each chapter of the Handbook will be supported by a video, which summarizes and illustrates the content. Our aim is to create videos which ensure the understanding and successful training of the users.

Entrepreneurship for Climate Action Digital learning module platform and Social media:  https://sustainable.turiba.lv/ serves as platform for information, tools and materials on sustainable entrepreneurship. The purpose of creating a digital learning platform is to have a place to share the project’s objectives and deliverables as well as to present the outputs and promote sustainable entrepreneurship in a guided manner. The platform is the main source of the results and findings of the project, which is designed to be easy to navigate and understand. 

It is important to learn and understand principles of sustainable entrepreneurship and this platform serves as a source of learning – it contains entire digital education material collection and relevant links, provides step-by-step learning approach.

The results will be used in the teaching processes of the education at Lapinamk Digital Handbook Sustainable Entrepreneurship for Climate Action would contain all the needed steps and tasks to perform sustainable business operations, but from the approach of creating new sustainable business instead of transforming the already existing business. This way, the Handbook would be the perfect source of creating more future sustainable entrepreneurs – resulting in more sustainable businesses – eventually resulting in general change in the behaviour of consumers: paving the way for climate change action. Focus would be also paid to climate change education, to spread awareness on the significance of sustainability, to spread the belief that climate change and the future of business operations are tightly linked together. The future is sustainability and impact economy, where the Sustainable Entrepreneurship for Climate Action Handbook is the best source of knowing how they are going to establish their sustainable businesses, how are they going to be part of sustainable future. Piloting by teachers and students in order to receive direct feedback and improve to create a better version is also part of delivering the final Handbook.
