Lapland UAS community

Our UAS community consists of the students and employees of Lapland University of Applied Sciences (Lapland UAS). The values of Lapland UAS guide our activities.

We act in ecologically, socially and financially responsible manner.

We respect diversity in our UAS community. Here everyone is welcome and valuable as they are.

We support and value the wellbeing of our UAS community’s members. We cherish equality, non-discrimination and fairness.

We do not accept any inappropriate conduct, harassment, discrimination, threatening behaviour or violence. We intervene in incidents and disruptions immediately and by the means necessary in each situation.

Through our own example, we encourage everyone to interact openly.

Learning

We develop our competence and expertise.

We support our students to take responsibility for the progress of their studies. We undertake to educate our students to become experts in their respective fields.

We enable studies in different personal situations.

Working

We value the competence and expertise of our community’s members. We experiment bravely and share the results of our experiments with our UAS community for utilisation.

We come to gatherings, meetings and learning situations prepared, and we participate actively. We commit to doing what we have agreed.

We allow each other to work in peace and quiet, and we respect each other’s time off.

We are happy of everyone’s successes and offer support whenever it is needed.

We encourage everyone to engage in a constructive interaction and open dialogue, and we respect different opinions.

As experts in our own field, we communicate actively, and the quality of our communication is high.

Management

We make decisions according to an agreed schedule, and we justify and communicate them openly. We use various expertise in decision making.

We inspire and enable our UAS community’s members to succeed in what they do. We take care of sufficient induction.

We listen and are truly present. We also face any challenging situations responsibly and commit to resolving them.

Stakeholders and cooperation

We build networks actively and commit to developing cooperation with working life.
