In addition to contracts, it is essential for companies to understand how the company’s financial result and assets are formed. The management of contracts and financial key figures are suitable for strengthening the company’s operational security, and enable the company’s controlled growth and changes. Lapland University of Applied Sciences’ ”Contract and financial skills to support growth-oriented business development”, known as the Sopiva project, offers small and micro-enterprises operating in Lapland learning packages and sparring in both Finnish and English. From the project, the business operator receives information and model contract templates to be used in daily operations and development. The aim of the project is to strengthen companies’ expertise in subcontracting, shareholder agreement, general contract terms, employment contracts and interpretation of financial statements. The project also supports the work of business developers in these themes, strengthening regional expertise.
