Cross-institutional studies

Expand your knowledge with online studies from other universities

Cross-institutional studies allow you to expand your study opportunities by choosing studies from another higher education institution in your home country and integrating them into your own degree. Cross-registration requires the right to study as a degree student, exchange student or open pathway student at a Finnish higher education institution.

Lapland university of applied sciences has established several cross-institutional study networks in cooperation with other higher education institutions in Finland, and students have the opportunity to participate in them. These networks are mainly discipline-specific, meaning that the cross-institutional study opportunities available vary depending on the student’s field of study.

Courses offered through cross-institutional study networks can be found in the Peppi student information system and in the Lapland UAS Study Guide: Cross Studies | Study Guide, Lapin AMK

Below you will find instructions for students leaving Lapin UAS and students arriving from another university.

The University of Lapland  and Lapland University of Applied Sciences  cooperate in teaching in various ways. Together, the universities form the Lapland University Consortium (LUC) which allows students to choose studies from the other university.

The LUC cross-institutional study offerings include studies that complement the study offerings of the other university, studies that are pedagogically appropriate for students of both universities and studies that the students have wished to be included in the study offerings.

You can browse the entire selection in the study guide (linkki Cross Studies | Study Guide, Lapin AMK ).  The guide shows the upcoming cross-study courses. Please note that registration always takes place through Peppi’s cross-study service, i.e., you cannot register directly from the guide.

  • Common offering for LUC studies
  • LUC MTI Cross-study
  • LUC law and business

You can view the cross-study study offer on the student’s desktop in the ISP view. Before enrolling in a course of study at another higher education institution, make sure that the course of study can be included in your own degree.

You can register for the course at the student’s desktop. Here you can find guidelines.

You will receive a confirmation email regarding your right to study from the target university to your email when the teacher accepts you for the first time for studies at that university. Upon acceptance of the enrollment, you will be granted a fixed-term right to study at the target university. The target university will instruct you on how to start your studies (e.g. on the usernames used).

Once you have completed your studies and the teacher at the target university has assessed it, the assessment will be transferred from the target university to your own Peppi in real time. The possibility of renewal and increase of performance should be checked at the target university.
