The first institutional level international week was organized in March 2020, right before the Covid-19 pandemic affected the societies around the world and made international cooperation challenging, and in many cases impossible. The next week was planned for the Spring 2022, but as the situation with Covid was still hard to predict, we had to postpone this event for November. This year the theme of our International Week was Deepening good partnerships. Our expertise groups invited their own partner institutions to attend the international week. It has been a great pleasure to see that 66 registered guests attented from several partner universities: from Belgium, France, Greenland, Germany, Hungary, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Uganda, United Kingdom and Scotland. It has been a pleasure to host guests that came a long way to Lapland, to the Arctic Circle to visit us! During the international week, we had fruitful discussions which have given us new ideas and perspectives on how to deepen the cooperation in education and in research and development in the coming years. Our international guests have visited our learning environments and laboratories and Lapland UAS students have been able to attend the lectures of our visiting professors during the week. Hopefully this will encourage our students to strengthen their own international competencies by going to a study abroad period in one of the great universities represented in Lapland during the International week. When it comes to the weather, snowy start for the December and visit to the local reindeer farms has given our international guests a great insight on our Arctic conditions and livelihood. We hope that they will have great memories from this week and hopefully visit us again soon.
