Top results especially in the areas of student feedback and employment, according to the indicators.

According to the preliminary results of the financial metrics of universities of applied sciences for the year 2020, Lapland UAS is the third best in Finland when the metrics from nine indicators are considered jointly. The results improved by 14% from the previous year, which reflects the fact that the students progressed well in their studies, despite the exceptional circumstances caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Lapland UAS achieved the best results in the number of both bachelor’s and master’s degrees, feedback from students regarding their studies, employment, and the volume of externally funded RDI activities.

In the comparison conducted by the Ministry of Education and Culture, the results and success of higher education institutions are made proportional to their size. The performance of the universities of applied sciences is assessed according to nine indicators: bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, student feedback, graduates’ employability, quality of employment, continuous learning, cooperation between higher education institutions, external funding of RDI activities, and publications.

– Despite the challenges of this operating year, we have achieved good results. It’ll be great to continue from here conjointly with the students, staff members and partners, says rector Riitta Rissanen gladly.
