The app, Frendie PRO, will be introduced in August through the student union ROTKO, with the support from Frendie, LähiTapiola, and Kemijoki Oy. Many students report a reduced sense of community, especially with the rise of remote and hybrid studies. Frendie PRO addresses this challenge by offering an easy and low-threshold way to connect and form friendships—regardless of where or how you study. -Student life can often feel fragmented, and loneliness is common. Frendie PRO helps to find like-minded people based on shared interests, life situations, or form of studies.” Frendie PRO offers: The opportunity to find friends and peer support Communities based on hobbies, life situations, or fields of study Availability in both Finnish and English A global platform for international or exchange students to stay connected regardless of location The app serves all students on-campus, hybrid, and online and is designed to support everyone in building social well-being and a sense of belonging. No one should have to feel alone. Frendie PRO can be downloaded from your mobile app store. Students at Lapland’s universities can access it from August 1st using the code: lapiko25 (Note: This code is only for students of the University of Lapland and Lapland University of Applied Sciences!)
