The advanced environments of the social services in the Kosmos building in Kemi inspire you to learn and test!

Sensory room

In the sensory room, the senses are stimulated in different ways with the help of technology. Students and professionals in the social and health field work with different clients, and experiences can be created for groups of clients in the sensory room.

The room uses sounds, lights, wind and other elements to create a background environment for various activities. Relaxing beanbag chairs with a massage feature, large screens that can be loaded with still and video images are available.

Space is rented for use by communities and organizations.

Home environment

The home environment is a home-like space that can be used especially as an environment for the development of senior and elderly work services. Social work and nursing students can also use the space to practice working at home.

The simulation environment can also be used as a place for continuing education, for ergonomics training, as a place for giving demonstrations of competence, and as a testing and equipment demonstration environment for wellness technology. In the space, you can also practice customer encounters and meeting and negotiation situations. The space is used in mental health studies when meeting a challenging client, and for simulations of paramedics in a home-like environment.

The facility has the possibility of export tracking and IT readiness.

Areena

Areena functions both as a teaching space and as a space for watching simulations. If necessary, the arena is also used as an additional space for first aid teaching and for functional teaching. Virtual glasses and equipment for nursing are also available in the Areena.

This room can be easily modified according to the purpose of use. There are no tables at all in the room.
