At Lapland University of Applied Sciences, individual study arrangements are implemented based on the needs of the student. You can apply for individual arrangements due to physical or mental illness, disability, learning difficulties, anxiety issues, challenges in managing life, or various crisis situations.

Arrangements may be granted for a specific period or for the duration of your studies. The content and implementation are based on the student’s needs and their life and study situation. Support measures may relate to teaching and guidance situations, learning environment arrangements, or exam situations. They may include teaching arrangements, various teaching materials, or the use of assistive devices.

Applying for Individual Arrangements

Your application must include a professional statement, such as a medical certificate or a statement regarding reading difficulties. The application form can be found here (link will be updated).

  1. Discuss individual arrangements with your study advisor. Your study advisor can also guide you in completing the application if necessary.
  2. The decision regarding individual arrangements is made by the competency manager. Submit your application to the competency manager using encrypted email. Instructions and contact details can be found below.
  3. Once you receive the decision, you can check your personal study plan (PSP) with your study advisor to ensure that the individual arrangements are included.
  4. Always contact the teacher of the course where you wish to use the granted individual arrangements. This should be done well in advance of the course start date, so the teacher can consider your individual arrangements. If you contact teachers by email, use encrypted email.

You can find instructions for sending encrypted email here (link will be updated).

Contact details for the competency managers can be found here (link will be updated).
