As a goodwill partner, the students of tourism and social services at Lapland University of Applied Sciences will get involved in doing good in cooperation with the Santa Claus Foundation.

Joulupukin sinettiLapland University of Applied Sciences and the Santa Claus Foundation (Oy Santa Claus Licensing Ltd) have made a cooperation agreement, the purpose of which is to promote common values and responsible operations and to provide learning experiences. The cooperation also offers the University of Applied Sciences possibilities to develop concepts related to responsibility through student projects.

– At Lapland University of Applied Sciences, social responsibility and sustainable development are seen as an essential part of future working life in all fields. Cooperation with the Santa Claus Foundation is a great opportunity to create social impact and increase competences of our students during their studies. As an official partner of Santa Claus, we hope to have a boost especially in marketing our international education, says Anu Harju-Myllyaho, the Manager at Lapland University of Applied Sciences.

Petri Paarnio, the Business Director of Oy Santa Claus Licensing Ltd, also sees several opportunities in the cooperation agreement:

The contract is initially made for two years.

At Lapland University of Applied Sciences, the cooperation is coordinated by Ms Anu Harju-Myllyaho, the Manager at Responsibility in Business Services Expertise group, and Ms Heidi Pyyny, the Manager at Participation and Functional Capacity Expertise group.

The Santa Claus Foundation is registered in Finland and its purpose is to develop and maintain a global image of Finland as a real Christmas country and Santa’s homeland, to create conditions for the utilization of this image and to promote well-being of all children of the world through the Santa Claus charity operation. The Santa Claus Foundation owns the intellectual property rights related to Finnish Santa Claus, whose commercial agreements belong to Oy Santa Claus Licensing Ltd.
