The nationwide Career Monitoring Survey for Universities of Applied Sciences will launch on 7 October 2026. The survey collects information on the employment, career development, skills required in working life, and the extent to which studies at universities of applied sciences have met the needs of working life among graduates who completed their degrees five years ago.

The Career Monitoring Survey provides universities of applied sciences with unique information on the impact and labour market relevance of education. The results are utilised in the development of education, student guidance, quality management, and the strengthening of cooperation with working life. At the same time, they provide valuable information to support the development of education policy.

The Career Monitoring Survey is an important source of labour market feedback for higher education institutions. Through the survey, alumni assess how their studies have supported their careers, what competencies are genuinely required in working life, and what kinds of capabilities are expected from future professionals.

The Career Monitoring Survey Has Been Conducted Since 2018

The Career Monitoring Survey has established its position as one of the most important tools for assessing the impact of education provided by universities of applied sciences. Previous survey rounds have produced an extensive body of data on graduates’ career paths, competence development, and changes in working life. The results help to develop education so that it better meets the needs of students, working life, and society. Every response improves understanding of the role of universities of applied sciences in working life and helps build increasingly impactful higher education for the future.

The Career Monitoring Survey will be sent on 7 October to all graduates who completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at a university of applied sciences in 2021. The survey will be distributed by email and text message. The survey is conducted by the universities of applied sciences in cooperation with CSC – Services for Research. The survey closes on 9 November 2026.
