Lapland called my name 6.11.2025 Student story My adventure began in a city of Kemi, that somehow called my name quietly, yet with certainty. I instantly felt that I belonged here. I love Kemi, I love my field of study even more, Nursing is feels like something I was born for. It’s not merely a profession to me, but a calling that has always lived within me. I’m learning the language day by day with a feeling of peace and purpose. There is a calm beauty in this city, in its forests, its rivers, its soft silence. I adore its long snowy winters, the peaceful white days and nights. On the other side we have summers with endless daylight which feel magical. And here, we even have the rare chance of witnessing the northern lights. The university and the academic program are exactly what I dreamed of. The professors were the first faces I saw in this new country. They showed me I had truly chosen the right path. On my very first school day, I had just arrived in town the night before. I actually got lost on my way to the university and arrived late to class, but the moment I stepped inside, I forgot every worry. It felt as if the entire place had been waiting to welcome me warmly. Now I know the city by heart. I have wonderful friends. And honestly, this place already feels like home.
